Emergency Care FAQs

Common questions about emergency services, when to visit the ER, and what to expect answered by our specialists.

You should visit the ER for life-threatening or time-sensitive conditions including chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, head injuries, sudden severe headache, stroke symptoms (facial drooping, weakness, slurred speech), major burns, broken bones, seizures, allergic reactions with swelling, and loss of consciousness. When in doubt, call our emergency hotline for guidance.
Bring a valid photo ID, insurance card, list of current medications and dosages, known allergies, relevant medical history, emergency contact information, and any advance directives if available. If possible, leave valuables at home. Our registration team will assist you with all paperwork upon arrival.
Our ambulance service operates 24/7 with Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances staffed by paramedics and emergency medical technicians. Call our emergency hotline 1800-123-456 to request an ambulance. We dispatch immediately, track your location, and relay patient information to the ER team before arrival so critical care begins the moment you arrive.
Wait times vary based on the severity of your condition. Patients with life-threatening emergencies are seen immediately. Our triage system prioritizes care based on medical urgency, not order of arrival. For non-critical conditions, the average wait is 30-60 minutes. We continually monitor and manage patient flow to minimize delays for all patients.
Emergency care is for life- or limb-threatening conditions requiring immediate medical intervention, such as heart attacks, strokes, major trauma, severe bleeding, or breathing difficulties. Urgent care is for non-life-threatening issues like minor cuts, sprains, colds, ear infections, and mild fevers that need prompt attention within 24 hours but are not emergencies. When uncertain, call us for guidance.
