Pediatrics FAQs

Common questions about children's health answered by our pediatric specialists.

Our vaccination schedule follows CDC and WHO guidelines. Children typically receive vaccines at birth, 2, 4, 6, 12-15, and 18 months, with boosters at 4-6 years and adolescence. Key vaccines include Hepatitis B, DTaP, IPV, MMR, Varicella, PCV, Rotavirus, and Influenza (annual). Our pediatricians create a personalized schedule for each child.
Well-child visits are recommended at birth, 2 weeks, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months, then annually from ages 3-21. These visits track growth and development, provide immunizations, offer preventive screenings, and give parents guidance on nutrition, safety, and developmental milestones at every age.
Seek medical attention if: your infant under 3 months has a rectal temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher; fever lasts more than 3 days; fever is accompanied by rash, difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting, severe headache, stiff neck, or unusual lethargy; or your child appears dehydrated. For older children with mild fever who are eating and playing normally, home care with hydration and rest is usually sufficient.
A balanced diet for children includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Breast milk or formula is recommended for the first 6 months, with gradual introduction of solids starting around 6 months. Limit sugary drinks and processed foods. Our pediatric nutritionists offer personalized guidance for children with special dietary needs, allergies, or feeding difficulties.
Developmental milestones cover physical, cognitive, social, and language skills. At each well-child visit, our pediatricians assess milestones using standardized screening tools. Key milestones include smiling (2 months), sitting (6 months), first words (12 months), walking (12-15 months), and toilet training (2-3 years). If you have concerns between visits, we offer developmental screening clinics. Early intervention is crucial for the best outcomes.
